Question 21-Puritan Catechism

Spurgeon 6Q. How did Christ, being the Son of God, become man?

A. Christ, the son of God, became man by taking to himself a true body, (Hebrews 2:14) and a reasonable soul, (Matthew 26:38; Hebrews 4:15) being conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the Virgin Mary, and born of her, (Luke 1:31,35) yet without sin. (Hebrews 7:26)

I’m surprised that I did not know Spurgeon compiled a catechism. It’s a blessing that so much of this man’s work has been passed down to us for the continued edification of the Church.

It is truly a blessing that Spurgeon’s writings and sermons have been preserved. About a fourth of his sermons have been published. This fourth contains about 16,000. There is still 3 quarters of unpublished sermons.

Most of Spurgeon’s published works can be found online for free. These writings consist of sermons and many books and devotionals of which he wrote.

      Thanks for your comment.
